Lavender Hill Photography specialises in baby photography in East London, welcoming families to our Walthamstow studio, from the surrounding areas of Chingford, Tottenham, and beyond. Our relaxed, baby-led sessions are designed to be fun, natural, and stress-free, meaning that we have lots of fun capturing your little one as they sit, smile, and play. Sitter photography sessions take place when baby is 5-9 months old, basically as soon as baby can sit unaided.
We capture a series of set ups and portraits that capture the next milestone after their newborn session and their gorgeous personality.
Our cosy Walthamstow photography studio is a warm and welcoming space where you and your baby can feel completely happy and at home. We will give gentle guidance to make sure we capture those gorgeous expressions and their latest achievement – big smiles, sitting alone, learning to stand and walk… this is a wonderful age where your baby is discovering the world around them.

What to Expect from Your Older Baby Photoshoot
Your baby’s personality is starting to shine through, and we want to capture every precious smile, cheeky expression, and joyful moment in a way that feels natural and timeless. Our white, bright, and simple photography style keeps the focus exactly where it should be – on your baby and all the little details that make this stage so special.
From the moment you arrive at our cosy and welcoming studio in Walthamstow, you’ll feel right at home. Designed with both babies and parents in mind, it’s a calm, comfortable space where you can relax and enjoy the experience. We keep our sessions completely baby-led, allowing plenty of time for cuddles, play, and those wonderful spontaneous moments that make for the best photographs.
Parents and siblings are always encouraged to join in – there’s nothing more important than capturing the love and connection between you and your little one. Whether you ‘re playing together, snuggling close or sharing a giggle, these images will be treasured memories of your first year together as a new family.

YOUR SESSION
Older baby photography sessions are short and sweet and last around 30-40 minutes. This is plenty of time as at this age you don’t want to overdo it and make your little one upset or tired. During the session I take multiple photos of your baby on their own and you are more than welcome to join in too. My sitter photography sessions are similar to my newborn sessions in that my style is timeless and organic styled. I love classic organic knitted rompers, adorable teamed up with simple set up with all creams/whites so they remain timeless. If I have photographed your newborn, I often try to recreate a set up that we did with baby as a newborn as it’s so special!
WHEN TO BOOK
Sitter sessions are best photographed when your baby is usually around 6-9 months. These sessions are designed for when your baby can sit up on their own unaided, this way we will be able to get more variety from your photos.

When you are ready to book, you can secure your appointment with a £50 booking fee.
YOUR VIEWING
Usually 2-3 weeks time after your Newborn Photoshoot I will invite you back to the studio your viewing and ordering appointment. This is when you select the photos you love and want to keep forever! At your viewing appointments we can discuss the best products and packages for you.
COLLECTIONS
When you are ready to book we can secure your appointment with a £50 session fee.
Approximately 2-3 weeks after your session you will be invited back to the studio for your viewing and ordering appointment, where we will reveal your gallery and choose which packages suit you best.
Your session fee does not include any products or digital images.
